The Builder, kind man that he is, took me for a wee drive yesterday.
When we arrived at the lighthouse, some sheep were sheltering at the wall,
and then I saw them turn round to admire the crashing waves.
These photos are taken from the other side of the lighthouse. The sun came out, and you can see my shadow is falling over the cliff.
A gull on the rock... not feeling the cold, apparently.
These photos are taken at Stoth. I loved the way the sheep looked at me, as if to ask what on earth I was doing on their patch.
I think the sheep closer to the edge is testing my nerves.
Don't do it, sheep. Don't!
And here, on our way home, was Eoropie machair with a sleet shower fast approaching.
wow! some intense looking weather! i'm guessing you got those winds there i've heard about from 2 other UK bloggers? yikes! (loved the 'don't do it sheep!' plea!)
ReplyDeleteWow. What absolutely smashing scenery. Oh, Anne! Someday I will come to Scotland. If my heart tells me aright, I'll be there *someday*. :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe 2nd time I've looked at pictures of your Isle today as my cousin's annual newsletter just arrived in the mail with lots of photos of family, sea, crofts, dogs, flowers, gardens and markets. No sheep though! Their garden looks amazing and hope I get the chance to visit one day.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Anne. I look forward to reading your blog again in 2012 - by the time I get to visit I'll be very familiar with the scenery and place names!
Breathtaking photos! I really hope we get there one day!

Lovely pictures, but I can't believe the amount of wind you must deal with. You are like me- I'd have been worried about that sheep too! :)
