God's Answer to Suffering

This week on our island, a 34 year old mother of two young girls passed away. Her daughters are two and four.

Many people ask the question, "How, if God is loving, can He allow such things to happen?"

Maybe this sermon, God's Answer to Suffering, will help answer that question.

Meanwhile, we remember these dear girls, now motherless,  and their father, now a widower. My heart aches when I think of situations like these: what they're going through is simply unimaginable, and yet, there is One who is able to comfort. We take the family to Him, and pray that God would sustain them, comfort them, and give them the peace that passes all understanding.

  1. Wow! I am so sorry to hear about this poor family! While we who are left on this earth may not understand this seemly untimely death, our Lord knows all and is our Hope! My thoughts and prayers will be with them.

  2. So sorry, that gets to me, when my Mom died my sister was 5 and my brother 8 and I was 11. I was thankful that I knew God the way I did, because He really does comfort in supernatural ways. I will pray for that poor family. But God is just and He is love and even though it was hard without the love that a Mother gives, I might never have known Him the way I did. He is always good.

  5. So sad. What days we live in. So much sadness all around I am saying a prayer for that little family right now. I know that the grace of God comes forth so tangibly when we need it and He will for them. Many blessings and prayers to you all.
    Much Love,
    Pam

  6. I didn't listen to the sermon on suffering, but I wanted to comment and say how sorry we are. Then I read what Farm Girl had to say and there it is...losing your mother when you are 11. But we also must remember that this is what life is....hard times, good times, sickness, suffering, joy. It can't all be good and easy. Heaven is waiting on the other side and I believe we will see then that our perspective here was all wrong. This is just the beginning. :) I guess I'm feeling reflective. It does break your heart to hear about this family suffering without their mother/wife. We will pray. Lisa~
