Meet me on Monday

I'm linking to Never Growing Old via Everyday Ruralty, which I love, for this Meet Me on Monday.

1.  What jewelry do you wear 24/7?
None! I used to have a simple chain around my neck - a short, gold one - but it broke last month. I've worn it for over twenty years... I know it's more than twenty years because (I'm not sure I should say this, so I'll whisper it)...It was an old boyfriend who gave it to me.

Is that very inappropriate? Well, I wore it anyway. The Builder didn't mind, cause it saved him buying something in the jewellery department for me!

I hardly ever even wear my wedding ring.

This is my excuse reason: When I'd only been married about three years, I lost my wedding ring, and had to buy another to replace it. I bought the exact same one, but because my wedding ring has seven diamonds in it, it wasn't exactly cheap. This ring (as was the last) is a tiny bit loose on me and I can only be sure it'll stay on if my engagement ring is on at the same time. Sooooo, I either wear neither, or both. I wear neither most of the time; I wear both when I go to church, to town, or out for a meal (cough, choke, splutter....when does that ever happen!!)

2.  Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?
Twirl. Fork and spoon.

3.  How many siblings do you have?
One brother and one sister. I think every woman in the world ought to have a sister.

4.  Were you named after anyone?
I was. My Mum's mother, who died not long before I was born was Anne. She was known as Annie and I'd happily have taken the Annie just to be more fully named after her. I never met her, though I will one day, but I've always felt such a bond between us. I actually get very emotional when I think of her (I know it's hard for y'all to believe that I get emotional about a thing like that, but there you go!)

I am getting my head around a blogpost on names, and why we're named what we are. I guess I'll tell you all then what the Builder's name is, and - wait for it - even Big Brother's (if he'll let me!)

5.  Coke or Pepsi?
Neither. I once saw a tooth dissolve in a glass of Coke or Pepsi, and although I don't dislike the taste of them particularly, I can't get the dissolving tooth out of my mind!

We seldom have any fizzy drinks in the house. They're a bit like presents: birthdays, Christmas and the odd special occasion.

(I only like fizzy drinks if they've gone flat. Does that make me really, really odd? Or just slightly?)

  1. I was tickled to find your comment on my website! Thank you so much for stopping by and saying hello. Nice to 'meet' YOU! I appreciated what you had to share- I would love to see more of Scottish weddings!!! (The one particular slideshow you commented on included Jewish traditions!)

  2. Those are fun facts! I don't wear much in the jewelry department either. My wedding ring fits at times, but since the twins pregnancy (5! years ago)I haven't been able to consistently get it on - my fingers are too fat! I can actually wear it about half the time, and love to wear it! We don't buy much soda around here either...but we really like to have it with pizza (which we have once a week!)-and though I don't buy it every week, since we have money earning children, they tend to make certain it is in the house on pizza night!

  3. I don't wear much jewelry and the ladies I work with think that is kind of odd, but I don't! I also twirl my spaghetti, but I don't have a sister.
