A Man's Man

I walked into the family room yesterday and saw this.

He looked up in horror when he realised I'd taken a photo, and said, 'Mum, don't tell anyone I'm reading Romeo and Juliet. He's so not my kinda guy.'

I assured him nobody would think ill of him, and that his camouflage trousers and military t-shirt would allay any fears the readers might be tempted to have.

So, for the record: my Wee Guy is a man's man. Got it?

  3. I agree, he is so cute, again, that might not be what he wants to hear!

    And isn't there a big sword fight in Romeo & Juliet? He could say that's the part he was reading!

  4. Got it! But please tell him he's in good company, Mr. C has been known to watch Pride and Prejudice in his camouflage pants. But let's just keep that between you, me and the wee guy.

  5. Got it! And please assure him that there are lots of people who think that the very best kind of men read Shakespeare. ;-)

  6. "Tut! I have lost myself; I am not here;
    This is not Romeo, he's some other where."
    Romeo and Juliet Act1,Scene1
    (conversation between Benvolio & Romeo)

    Let's make this an appropriate quote for the photo.
    "Tut! I have lost myself reading Romeo and Juliet;I am not here;
    This is not the Wee Guy, he's some other where and definitely not reading THAT!"

  7. Thank you all! Patrice...ever thought of going into poetry publishing yourself?!

    As for acting out the sword scene, Kirsteen, I can assure you that every possible variation of that scene has had its airing in our hall!
