Psalm 37

God blessed the words of Psalm 37 to my heart in a huge way about five years ago. The circumstances were particular to that season of my life, but these words spoke to me one Saturday morning when Rev David Murray was preaching in our neck of the woods. The words of the psalm was a promise to me that was so clearly from God that, by His grace, I never doubted that He would bring His promise to pass. Of course He did.

These are the verses:

3. Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in Him: and He shall bring it to pass.

I don't think I've ever had the Word of God speak to me in the way it spoke to me at this time. God knew my need and He was gracious in His dealing with me. Yesterday morning, the Builder read this psalm out to me - without prompting.

I felt truly blessed by it, and although I didn't have the circumstances of five years ago (praise God), the words were again balm to my soul.

My circumstances will not be your circumstances, but I hope these verses of Psalm 37 may be a blessing to some of you today.

  2. Praying for you today from across the sea.....Psalm 1:1-3......rest in HIS everlasting arms, Anne, they are strong enough to sustain you through anything. Deut.33:27.

Thank you for the reminder to trust in HIM no matter what the circumstances ahead may be.

  3. verse 5 spoke to us recently when we were faced with the option of Andy's new post and moving as a family. We are still holding fast to that promise.

  6. I have had moments like that too, where a scripture has suddenly brought a comfort to my heart when I desperately needed it, and those moments and those scriptures I will never forget.
    Thanks Anne
