I was bowled over by them! I absolutely loved them, and can see quite easily, how there is a whole 'curriculum' of learning in them. Hope you have a great time with them! xHomeschool on the Crofthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03400742529025230433noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439971908848990993.post-36398482545387565412012-09-08T08:42:33.246+01:002012-09-08T08:42:33.246+01:00Yes, fiddlefever, I have seen some of those and ha...Yes, fiddlefever, I have seen some of those and had them on my wishlist for some time. They have some fabulous courses with study guides that are great! Some other ones are "The History of Christianity and Western Civilization," and "D-Day and the Providence of God," as well as "Law and Government." The world-view and theology you get from these courses is priceless. We're supposed to be faithful in little, which is money, to be faithful in much. The Crown and Covenant books look amazing, can hardly wait to find them. I just recently found out my ancestors are SCOTTISH, not IRISH, so have much to learn.

This year I am making a departure from learning and am teaching through Laura Ingalls Wilder books about homesteading in America, using a resource by Margie Gray called the Prairie Primer. It's a literature based unity study guide book.

I'll be blogging through the adventures at mommamindyprairieprimer.wordpress.com. I am sad that her volume 4 will not be out by the time I am finished, unless of course I can talk my son into not going to college for one more year and letting me teach him next year. :)
I do think the best history is the Renaissance and the Reformation for a concise look at the movers and shakers who have changed our worlds. The other one that I use and have used for all six, is The Seven Men Who Rule the World From the Grave by David Breese. It is still in print and you can buy it from Amazon. I was surprised.
As I close these years of my home school days, I should write out what worked for us and what didn't.
Sorry I wrote so much. :) Farm Girlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00998621464797636686noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5439971908848990993.post-66615020047988157052012-09-05T11:25:57.617+01:002012-09-05T11:25:57.617+01:00Thanks for sharing!
